Your 7-Day Tour Itinerary, day by day.
Arrival & and Explore Fes

We begin our Morocco 7 Day itinerary from Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual heart. After arriving, settle into your accommodation and take time to relax. In the afternoon, we explore the vibrant Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its narrow alleys, bustling souks, and historic madrasas. We visit the famous Al Quaraouiyine University and the Chouara Tanneries, where leather has been crafted for centuries. The day ends with a delicious traditional dinner, immersing us in the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine.
Fes to Merzouga

Today, we leave Fes behind and embark on a scenic journey south toward Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. We will travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing cedar forests near Ifrane and Azrou, and keep an eye out for Barbary macaques. Continuing through the Ziz Valley, while we enjoy the views of palm groves and traditional Berber villages. By late afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where we switch to camels and ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, we arrive at our desert camp and enjoy dinner under a spectacular starry sky.
Desert discovery

We will wake up early to watch the sunrise paint the dunes in magical colors. After breakfast, we explore the fascinating region around Merzouga. We visit nomadic families and learn about their way of life, then continue to the village of Khamlia to enjoy traditional Gnawa music. The afternoon is ours to relax or try sandboarding on the dunes. As evening falls, we gather around the campfire, share stories, and savor another night in this peaceful desert setting.
From Merzouga to Dades Valley

We will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the stunning sunrise of the Sahara Desert and its amazing, peaceful vibes. After having our tasty breakfast with our Desert family at the camp, and have a nice shower to freshen up for the day’s adventure.
We will then start our journey towards our first stop in Rissani to visit the Souk, one of the biggest traditional markets in Morocco. Then we will continue to the famous Todra Gorges, the favorite place for rock climbers. Overnight will be in our last destination, the Dades Valley.

From Dades Valley to Marrakech

On today’s adventure of our 7 days trip from Fes, we will travel along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Marrakech. We stop in Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the Sahara, and visit the impressive Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning clay architecture. After exploring this historic ksar, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass. By evening, we arrive in Marrakech, ready to relax and look forward to exploring the city.
Explore Marrakech

After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning guided tour of Marrakech, “the Red City of Morocco.” Your guide will ensure that you see all the sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Koutoubia, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace …
You will also get to walk through the medina alleys and get the chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous Jamaa El Fna Square to enjoy watching different people doing what we call “Lhal9a.”

Frequently asked questions.
What type of vehicles are used?
The tour uses comfortable and air-conditioned vehicles and is perfect for small or private groups.
We usually use modern 4×4 SUVs or minivans, depending on the group size and the terrain. For off-road parts of the trip, like in the desert, we use strong 4×4 vehicles to make sure everyone stays safe and comfortable.
Is the tour suitable for children and elderly travelers?
Yes, this tour is suitable for all ages. The camel ride is gentle and can be shortened for younger children or elderly travelers if needed. The desert camp offers a safe and magical experience that everyone will remember forever, from playing in the dunes to stargazing around the campfire. Please let us know your group’s needs in advance, and we will tailor the experience accordingly.
Is this tour shared or Private?
You can choose to take this tour as a private or shared experience, depending on your preference.
- A private tour offers a more personal experience, with flexible timing and a customized plan.
- A shared tour means you’ll travel with a small group of travelers, which is a great way to meet others and keep costs lower. Just make sure to let the tour operator know your preference when you make your booking.
How far is Merzouga from Fes?
About 480 km (300 miles), roughly 7 to 8 hours through the Middle Atlas and Ziz Valley, with air-conditioned transport and frequent stops.
How long is the camel ride?
About 1 to 1.5 hours in the afternoon, and about 1 hour the following morning.
Are the desert camp tents shared or private?
Private tents are guaranteed, whether you book the standard or luxury camp.
Is there Wi-Fi or phone signal in the desert?
Signal is available in Merzouga village and may be intermittent on the journey. In the desert camp, Wi-Fi is often available but can be limited due to the remote location, generally sufficient for messages and sharing photos, but not for streaming. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to disconnect, enjoy the desert’s silence, and marvel at the star-filled sky without distractions.
